Down below we’ve organized the best tips for you to use to create a better look. Feel free to reference this page time and time again. We want you looking your best for your partner on your next date.

BASIC

Fix your posture The best part about this tip is it doesn’t cost you a dime. If you tend to slouch; standing up straight will instantly improve your appearance.

Only wear clothes that are a good fit Give away everything in your wardrobe that doesn’t fit you. Either that or take it to a tailor for an adjustment. Doesn’t matter how expensive or stylish the clothing is. It’s going to look like crap if it’s not the right fit! Which bring me to my next tip:

Know your measurements Go to a tailor! Have them take your measurements. Consider purchasing clothes from them directly. You may be pleasantly surprised at the prices. At least now you have your measurements for all your shopping needs.

Go-to outfit Wear a lightweight sweater underneath a sports jacket with dark colored jeans.

Gym shoes are for working out Guys you do own more than just one pair of shoes, right?! Stop wearing those gym shoes everywhere you go.

Iron your shirts Three minutes of your time and you look better than 90 percent of men. Start paying attention to just how many guys walk around wearing a wrinkled shirt.

Facial hair should look deliberate It should be well-maintained. Trim and shape regularly.

Own one pair of white minimal sneakers A nice clean looking pair of white sneakers is always a great look with some dark blue jeans.

Throw on an accessory or two Up your cool! A nice watch or pair of sunglasses can drastically improve your look.

Own more shoes Probably wouldn’t hear this suggestion for women. Guys it’s okay to own more than 2 pairs of shoes.

Can’t go wrong with leather Hard to go wrong with owning a leather jacket. It’s timeless.

Clean out your wallet That giant bulge in your pocket is not a good look. Better yet, go with a leather card holder.

Sometimes less is more If you are wearing a hat, sunglasses, a watch, four rings, a necklace and layer upon layer of clothing, then you might be overdoing it.

Shop with a friend A salesperson is trying to make a sale. Take a friend who will be honest with how you look in an outfit.

Henley shirt with sleeves rolled up Own at least one Henley shirt. Roll up the sleeves to show off a little forearm. This will add a masculine edge.

Dress the body you have Dress the body you have, not the body you want.

Know how to layer Try a cardigan or hoodie over a shirt.

Pants beat shorts I get it! Summer’s get hot. Just keep in mind, pants make for a more pleasing silhouette.

Own a few pairs of sunglasses Own a few different styles of sunglasses that can go with a variety of outfits.

Try various product in your hair You might find that a particular product suits your hairstyle better. There are sprays, gels, mousse, glues that are all designed for different length, thickness, texture and styles.

Avoid shirts with graphics on them Save the shirts with graphics on them for the gym, or poker nights with the guys.

Tips on finding and using the right cologne:

Have a small collection of cologne. If you’re looking for a new cologne, then get a female perspective. Have a little variety.

Test before you purchase. Each person’s body chemistry is different, and a scent that smells great on someone else may not be as pleasant on you.

Different colognes for different occasions. Go with a light and fresh scent for everyday wear, while a musky scent may be better for a night out.

Consider the season: Light and fresh scents are typically better for spring and summer, while heavier and warmer scents are better for fall and winter.

Apply it correctly: A little goes a long way. One spray on the inner wrist, then rub it on your neck and chest. One spray in the air and walk through it.

Choose a perfect hairstyle for your face shape:

Round face shape: Create height and length to give your face a slimmer appearance.

Square face shape: Keep the sides short to avoid making your head look even wider. A standard side part, or some height works here.

Rectangle/Oblong face shape: Avoid length on top. This will make your face look longer and skinnier. You could also go medium on the sides for width.

Oval face shape: Count yourself lucky! You can pull off most hairstyles. Avoid bangs, this will give your face a rounder appearance.

Diamond face shape: You need width for a narrow forehead, so don’t go short on the sides. Go for a textured messy hair, or a fringe cut.

Advanced

When we specify to use the Advanced Style Routine it is important to remember that the goal is to make a strong impression. You should be using all of the tips we have provided in Basic, as well the tips down below. Dressing to impress means putting in the effort to create a polished and put-together ensemble. This can include selecting clothing items that are well-fitted, with coordinating colors and patterns, and paying attention to even the smallest detail. Confidence is key, and when you feel good about yourself, it will show in the way you carry yourself.

Overdress Be the best dressed guy in the room. If you’re unsure of what to wear for a particular occasion, then opt towards overdoing it.

You should own at least one suit It’s a huge mistake if you don’t own at least one suit when the occasion calls for it. Which brings me to…

Shop for a suit in person It bears repeating: Be sure your clothing is a good fit! This is especially true for a great suit.

Bottom jacket button should remain undone The bottom button on your suit jacket should not be buttoned. Don’t make this simple mistake.

The tip of your necktie should touch the top of your belt Tie your necktie in a way that the bottom tip touches the top of your belt buckle.

Practice rolling up your shirt sleeves When the suit jacket comes off, it’s a great opportunity to show off those forearms. Just be sure you’re doing it right.

Shine your shoes! The shinier the better. Extend the life of your shoes tenfold by taking good care of them.

Wear jewelry Choose between silver and gold! Don’t wear both at once. It’s hard to go wrong with a great watch.

Rather than a suit jacket, go with a V-neck sweater over the dress shirt If you want to dress to impress, but you don’t want to go as far as to wear a suit, then is you’re next best option.

Dress like Cary Grant When all else fails, then try dressing like Cary Grant. Watch a few Cary Grant movies and you’ll notice he was almost always the best dressed guy in the room. While you’re at it, pay attention to his charm and take a few notes.
